As a company, we at ABC Blind & Drapery, feel it is important to give back to our community as well as bring awareness to different charities that are out there doing good for the world. Since we just recently finished installing roller shades in the Ronald McDonald House, we thought we’d tell you more about what they do and who they help!

Ronald McDonald House

The Ronald McDonald House of Central Texas was established in 1985 to provide comfort and support to thousands of families whose children have been hospitalized. Located at 1315 Barbara Jordan in Austin, TX, the Ronald McDonald House has been offering a “home away from home” to families with children in the Dell Children’s Hospital for over 30 years.

Through the Ronald McDonald House, Ronald McDonald Family Rooms, Happy Wheels Carts and Healing Hearts program, they offer much-needed emotional support to families going through this difficult process as well as lessening the financial strain of hotel bills on top of medical bills. Not only does the Ronald McDonald House supply families with a place to stay, but the Happy Wheels Carts also stroll the hospital bringing complimentary items to families waiting with children and the Healing Hearts program gives support to families who have lost their child. Dell Children’s Medical Center

The premier healthcare provider for children and adolescents, Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas serves over 46 counties and is the only dedicated freestanding pediatric facility in the region.
