It’s not every day that we get to put “Pierce Brosnan” and “ABC Blind & Drapery” in the same sentence. But, when filming happens in Austin, there’s a chance we’ll be involved!

On April 8th, a ten-episode television series called “The Son” starring Pierce Brosnan debuted on AMC. The show, which is “based on the New York Times bestseller and Pulitzer Prize-nominated novel, The Son, is a sweeping family saga that spans 150 years and three generations of the McCullough family. The ten-episode, one-hour drama traces the story of Eli McCullough’s (Pierce Brosnan) transformation from good-natured innocence to calculated violence, as he loses everything on the wild frontier, setting him on the path to building a ranching-and-oil dynasty of unsurpassed wealth and privilege. The Son deftly explores how Eli’s ruthlessness and quest for power triggers consequences that span generations, as the McCulloughs rise to become one of the richest families reigning in Texas.”

ABC Blind & Drapery provided the window treatments for all of the sets. This isn’t the first time we have worked on such a project — as we’ve previously written about our engagements as the window treatment store of choice for the Austin film scene. Projects like The Son are especially exciting because the set calls for era-appropriate designs. For a saga that spans 150 years, the set designers are counting on us to provide window treatments that are historically accurate and blend seamlessly with the rest of the set. We love a good challenge and look forward to the next film set project!

To bring the story full circle, ABC Blind & Drapery also provided Phillip E. Meyer, the author of the New York Times bestseller and Pulitzer Prize-nominated novel, with window coverings for his home in Austin!

Let us know if you watch the AMC television series and if the window treatments caught your eye!
