Every May Costco has a special initiative to raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. The Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals are a group of 170 hospitals in the United States and Canada which serve children by improving and saving their lives. The purpose of the network is to raise funds to support research and training and pay for equipment and uncompensated care.
Since 1988, Costco has raised more than $240 million for this organization. Each Costco location specifically fundraises for their local children’s hospital. Through the Miracle Balloon Campaign, Costco raises funds by giving members the opportunity to donate money at the time of their checkout by writing their name on a balloon. These balloons are then displayed at the front of the warehouse.
If you visit your local Austin Costco this month, you might see these balloons and the ABC Blind & Drapery logo on a banner supporting the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. We are thrilled to participate in the Miracle Balloon Campaign for the first time this year as a major donor.
Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas is the local recipient of the money raised by the Austin area Costco locations. The Dell Children’s Hospital is the only dedicated freestanding pediatric facility in the region and serves a 46-county area and beyond. The health of children in our community is important to us. We are proud that we can help to fill in some of the gaps of the medical care for local kids in our area. The Dell Children’s Hospital does wonderful things to help the children in our community and we are proud to support them. As a local business operating in Austin since 1947, we believe that charitable giving and helping one’s community is a cornerstone of any business’s or individual’s success.
You can help too! The next time you visit Costco, please consider joining us and making a donation to the Children’s Miracle Network Foundation Hospitals.
